Skill Development is the process of identifying the skill gaps and developing and honing these skills of individuals. The mail objectives of the skill india programme is to provide adequate training in market-relevant skills to unemployed youths by 2022. It also aims to create opportunities for the development of talent within the country and improve the overall scope and space for underdeveloped sectors. In reference to Jajpur district of Odisha state Rural poor boys and Girls go up to matriculation standard and then stop education without having any skill. LNSP has started Skill training programme to impart the Skill Training to the rural youth under the ?agship of Jana Sikhan Sansthan (JSS) since 2007. The main objectives of JSS skill certi?cation training scheme is to enable a large number of rural youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood.
LNSP conducts survey in rural communities to identify youth in need of training through evaluation of economic condition, educational Background and willingness to learn. After enrolling required number of students in di?erent sectors, LNSP carries out the training programme in its JSS campus. LNSP appointed quali?ed and experienced technical sta?. For value addition, there are regular guest lecturers from experts of the subject. At the campus there is a workshop of machineries & tools to provide practical knowledge in every sectors. Apart from regular teaching aids and practical in workshop, there are also arrangements to facilitate on job training to these poor youth. After completion of training in the campus, the successful candidates referred for internship in the industries. This gives them a platform to acquire skills and make even more competent. LNSP has tied up with some renowned industries in Odisha who has a demand for skilled workforce. After completion of rigorous training in Di?erent sectors, these students get placed on wages in the respective industries easily.
