Campaign against Child labour

The future of a community is in the well being of its children. Child labor in Orissa is a human right issue for the whole world. It is a serious and extensive problem, with many children under the age of fourteen working in dhabas, hotels, garages, construction sites, bidi rolling units, carpet making factories, glass blowing units and making ?reworks with bare little hands. Though there are legal provisions against employing child labours in hazardous activities no body seems to bother about it. The main reason behind employing child labour is lack of sensitivity among the employers. According to the statistics given by Indian government there are 20 million child laborers in the country, while other agencies claim that it is 50 million. LNSP launched a sustained campaign on Prevention of Employing Child labour in its each operational districts. In order to achieve the objectives we organized rallies, workshops, and seminars in each operational area. In addition to making awareness campaign the agency is also trying to get some of these children admitted into formal schools.
